Why have I received this survey?2023-01-20T20:25:31+00:00

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires water suppliers to develop and implement a cross-connection control program. Part of a successful program includes surveying water customers in their distribution system to identify and eliminate potential or actual cross-connections that could allow contaminants to flow back into the drinking water from unsafe sources/connections such as fire protection sprinkler systems, boilers, lawn sprinklers and swimming pools.

Sometimes, this survey will be sent regardless of if the water supplier has current inventory of your assembly(s).

Why do I have to fill this survey?2023-01-20T20:26:21+00:00

Information reported to the water supplier is critical for compliance with water regulations and to ensure no foreign or dangerous substances are introduced to the public was supply and no other direct or indirect connections to the potable water system are present at your property. This ensures safe drinking water for ALL customers in the distribution system.

What if none of the boxes under Water Usage apply to me and my property?2023-01-20T20:26:57+00:00

Simply check the box “None of the above” and finish the remaining questions of the survey. Then, click “Submit”. Your response will be collected and recorded to your water purveyor that you responded to the survey. Your participation helps keep your drinking water safe!

What is backflow and cross-connection?2023-01-20T20:27:24+00:00

Backflow is the undesirable reversal of this flow of water and undesirable substances from the non-potable source to the potable source.

A cross-connection is any actual or potential connection between the public or consumer’s potable water system and any non-potable source or substance that present a hazard to the quality of the public or consumer’s potable water system.
